The Central Kuomintang Department at Hankow, the Nationalist Government, the All-China Labour Association, the Provincial Kuomintang Departments in various Provinces,

various Provincial Governments, various Labour Unions and the Fress, and for transmission to all our fellow-

countrymen in the Republic.

We received an urgent report from the Kung Tun Tsung Jui in Hong Kong yesterday, and understand from it that this Union for lack of responsible men to manage its affairs after the resumption of the Canton-Hong Kong traffic and in order to effect an improvement in this respect, appointed a Committee of 21 on the 1st. April as responsible officers. The workmen in Hong Kong - 100,000 in number - all rejoiced over the acquisition of these officers, being sure they would unify all the members, consolidate their forces and afford definite protection to the working classes. Unexpectedly, the Imperialists in Hong Kong resorted to their usual barbarous methods for oppressing the workmen and their usual drastic policy for dealing with the subject peoples in their

colonies.

On the very night after the completion of the election, they sent a large detachment of armed British

soldiers
